However, it should in no way be considered a diminished representative copy of the festival. Due to the given setting and time limit, a small kaleidoscopical sequence of mostly isolated piano compositions, selected and approved by each of the participating pianists, is inevitable, which not only provide entertainment but also inspire the listener. Furthermore, the encores of the pianists always form a small additional programme which extends beyond the main part of the festival.
