Seized by the Russian cruiser Smolensk in the Red Sea on the suspicion that she was carrying contraband to Japan. Arrived at Suez and released the following day following Government intervention. The Russian Government subsequently paid compensation. Laid up in Royal Victoria Dock, London, after failing to reach her reserve price at auction. Sailed for Bo’ness where she was broken up by Forth Shipbreaking Company Ltd. Condition as shown in photographs
