This is our famous Roman mandolin pick. It is extremely popular and produces a clear and crisp tone. We once supplied this pick made of tortoise shell and it was extremely popular. The tortoise has now become a protected species, and until now, using modern materials, we were unable to obtain the original tone produced by the pick. These picks are handmade from buffalo horn. Buffalo horn produces a very similar tone to tortoise shell.
