SKU: AT-LPA2 Categories: 'Pricespy, Audio, Turntables Description Additional informationDescriptionPremium Acrylic Turntable for Pure Analogue PerfectionThe AT-LPA2 is the finest turntable Audio-Technica has ever developed, designed to reveal the purity of analogue audio.Assembled from transparent acrylic, the AT-LPA2 fully manual belt-drive turntable combines contemporary aesthetics with analogue expertise, while remaining incredibly easy to set up and use. Audio Technica designed the AT-LPA2 to minimise resonance, which can cause noise and distortion in the signal chain, while maximising detailed audio reproduction of your vinyl records with crystal-clear accuracy. Not only is the acrylic stunning, it is also an ideal material for turntable construction, greatly reducing reverberations that might otherwise affect sound clarity. The AT-LPA2 features a high-density, 30 mm transparent acrylic chassis and 20 mm platter to provide exceptional stability and vibration damping for pure, uncoloured sound. Exclusively designed heavy-duty, height-adjustable feet isolate the turntable from vibration. The mass of the acrylic platter also allows it to spin at a consistent speed. Additionally, an optical sensor, positioned under the spindle, monitors platter rotation to maintain an accurate speed of 33-1/3 or 45 RPM.To further reduce unwanted noise, Audio Technica have moved the controls and power supply into a separate unit – a feature typically found only on more expensive turntables – thereby isolating the turntable’s sensitive audio components from electrical interference associated with powering and operating the turntable’s motor. This isolation ensures the quietest performance possible, so you hear only the music from your records, not electrical noise.AT-OC9XEN Moving Coil CartridgeThe AT-LPA2 comes with a pre-mounted AT-OC9XEN moving coil cartridge, which features a nude elliptical stylus (0.3 x 0.7 mil) and high-purity PCOCC coils. The AT-OC9XEN cartridge is designed to capture every nuance of your records with stunning clarity, while providing outstanding channel separation. The lower mass of the moving coil structure (compared to moving magnet cartridges) allows the stylus to react more quickly to changes in the record groove, resulting in more detailed audio reproduction. The cartridge comes mounted to an exclusive machined-aluminum headshell with azimuth adjustment, that attaches to the straight, carbon-fiber tonearm. Engineered specifically for this turntable, the new 8.8-inch tonearm also offers VTA adjustment. The lightweight, anti-resonant tonearm tracks smoothly and precisely, utilising a highly accurate, finely adjustable string-type anti-skate mechanism to counteract any inward pull and maintain proper channel balance. In addition, the tonearm includes two counterweight options (110 g and 130 g) to allow you to use a wide variety of other cartridges, should you so choose.Features…Fully manual, belt-drive operation with two speeds: 33-1/3 and 45 RPM30 mm-thick transparent chassis is made from low-resonance, high-density clear acrylic20 mm-thick, high-density transparent acrylic platter is calibrated to spin at a consistent speedAT-OC9XEN MC cartridge with 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical nude stylus provides detailed sound reproduction with excellent channel separation and low distortionSeparate control unit / power supply isolates the turntable from unwanted electrical noiseOptical sensor, positioned under the spindle, monitors platter rotation to maintain accurate speedNewly designed, carbon-fiber tonearm is precision-engineered for superior tracking and stability, with adjustable VTAHighly accurate and finely adjustable weighted anti-skate mechanism (string-type)Includes both a 110 g and 130 g counterweight to accommodate most cartridge configurationsExclusive machined-aluminum headshell with azimuth adjustmentPhono-level output provides pure, direct transmission of the cartridge’s signalExclusively designed heavy-duty, height-adjustable feet isolate the turntable from vibrationIncludes dual RCA (male) to dual RCA (male) stereo cable, ground wire, 45 RPM adapter, removable hinged dust cover, hex wrench (to adjust tonearm height), white inspection gloves (to prevent fingerprints during setup)Specifications…Motor: DC servoDrive Method: Belt driveSpeeds: 33-1/3 RPM or 45 RPMTurntable Platter: 20 mm-thick, acrylic platterWow And Flutter: <0.12% WRM (33 RPM)Signal-To-Noise Ratio: > 60 dBCartridge Type: MCAccessories Included: Control unit, Dust cover, Platter, Drive belt, Dust cover hinges, Counterweight (light), Counterweight (heavy), Weight for anti-skate, Auxiliary weight for anti-skate, Headshell with MC stereo cartridge (AT-OC9XEN), 45 RPM adapter, RCA audio cable (approx. 1.1 m (3.6’)), Power cable (approx. 1.8 m (5.9’))*, Control cable (approx. 1.0 m (3.3’)), Ground cable (approx. 1.1 m (3.6’)), Hexagonal wrench, Gloves.Tonearm Type: Static balanced straight carbon tonearmEffective Arm Length: 223.6 mmOverhang: 18.6 mmTracking Error Angle: Less than 2.0°Stylus Pressure Adjustment Range: 0 to 3.0 gApplicable Cartridge Weight: (excluding headshell) When counterweight (light) is used: 6.1 to 9.2 g; When counterweight (heavy) is used: 9.2 to 13.9 gTonearm Height Adjustment Range: -1.5 mm to 7 mm (with included cartridge)Anti-Skate Mechanism: Thread-suspended typeAnti-Skate Adjustment Range: Equivalent to 1.3 g to 3.0 g stylus pressureReplacement Cartridge: AT-OC9XENReplacement Belt: AT-LPA2 exclusive belt (sold separately)Dimensions (W x D x H):Turntable body: 420 mm × 340 mm × 135 mmControl unit: 133 mm × 228 mm × 50 mmWeight:Turntable body: Approx. 8.4 kgControl unit: Approx. 1.1 kgAdditional informationbrandAudio TechnicamodelAT-LPA2
